Frankly I don't know but afaik they didn't change anything in stage (it takes a lot of time with truck). It seems that the punctures were close to the finish and as the truck has tyre pressure regulation system they were probabably able to drive with this for some time without major time loss.

tomorrow is the day with the longest dune sections so it should be interesting..... if of course they run the stage

"The Fiambala dunes have become one of the decisive stages of the Dakar. This year, they feature at the heart of the most critical rally sequence, when drivers and their vehicles will have to demonstrate their aptitude for extreme endurance. Moreover, the day’s stage presents the longest dune section in the shared history of the Dakar and Fiambala, off-piste for most of the time. In short, an open door for desert specialists."

    Facebook Loeb

"It was a day just hassle. We got stuck three or four times as many. We followed the roadbook, the track was well brewed and it was difficult, if not impossible to pass. it is mounted suddenly plates, we also had to change a gimbal. I guess you could say we learned a hassle! in all these bushes, it was not the most pleasant stage. D 'on the one hand, it reduces the regrets of yesterday. on the other hand I say that I would have had a better order of appearance ...
It is always disappointing but I think it is relative. We came to learn, we found ourselves in the lead and defended our position. Now we will continue our learning even if tomorrow we have a real day dunes will be complicated: it will leave later than the favorites, with a warmer sand, softer. We know we can count on your support :-) "

He used to drive 4wd. It is difficult in the sand with 2wd. Hmm, may be he hasn't been in the sand also....

De Rooy's time would have been good enough for 6th in the car classification.

I wonder how it would be in Notland...

Btw, Argentinians are doing a pretty good job promoting their beautiful country all over the world. Everyone gets amazed with those landscapes images on TV!
