Parking Ticket
So this morning I got a Penalty Charge Notice from Ealing Council for parking in a residents permit only space. The permits are only required Monday to Friday 9 to 5. After visiting for the weekend I left at 9.15 Monday morning.
So does anyone know any technicalities that has got them out of a parking ticket?Tazio 14/3/2015: I'll give every member on this forum 1,000.00 USD if McLaren fails to podium this season!

What time were you ticketed? If you were ticked between 9am and 9.15 this morning surely the parking attendant had every right to ticket you?

Write a letter. Plead. Apologise profusely and state that you will never EVER do this again.
You have several options here. The best by far is closed to you if you really are called Jon Brown because it involves claiming to be new to the UK and being completely ignorant of British parking laws. That has worked well for my wife for over a decade.
Come up with a plausible sob story, don't lay it on too thick and avoid anything that makes you sound unreasonable or arrogant. Don't mention your job or claim that you were working late etc. Sick babies are good, or else claim your car had trouble starting and you were just finding that charger stored deep in your garage when the warden found your car. State that you left 15 minutes after the time was up and that you weren't planning to park the car past 9 am. An alternative would be to say that you arrived in Ealing in such a state of shock because you found out that your grandmother had just died that you didn't really check where you had parked. Apologise again. You were found parking in an area at a time you weren't allowed to park so pleading ignorance without mitigating factors simply won't work. Another one is to get your girlfriend to claim she was driving the car and sign it with her name if only because girls seem to get treated more leniently than men if they use a sob story.
It probably won't work but ultimately there is a human on the other side reading through and sorting out these letters and they may take pity on your soul... Also Ealing is relatively lenient, had you been caught in the Borough of Westminster your family would have probably been hunted down and shot by now.Last edited by Malbec; 30th September 2014 at 20:16.

Not a way out of your ticket, but.... It seems strange that it is residents only between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday when many residents would be at work? Why would residents have to display an id tag, when you expect the road to be clear of parking?
Hello Do we know what its a weather prediction? I will be there as accreditated photographer. My last visit im sardinia was in 2017
