    2014 NZ Rally events

Although there is no WRC round in NZ, there are still a few rally events.

May 9-11 Is the Otago Rally. Didier Auriol/ D Giradet, Hayden Paddon in Ford Escort RS cars and Mr Bates in the Toyota Celica for the Classic Rally.

The Toyota Celica Group B on the Allport Motorsport FB page looks like it has a bit of work left before it takes to the stages.

Mason 122 km/hr average speed on 2nd stage. Paddon infront of Bates - Paddon obviously has not been told a BDG Escort is supposed to be slower than that Toyota Celica.

    www.chrissport.co.nz Auriol going ok.

Paddon off road. Paddon's roll but he was going quickly with a new co-driver for the first time in while.

    Targa North Island this weekend.
Day one - Hopper in lead with 570 hp WRX with sequential trans. Cam Vernon drifts stage. http://youtu.be/k4wBQSkswMM
It must be hard on the tyres drifting over the 'cat's eye' road markers.

Car goes offroad. The Targa uses the Trackit system, would they have been better with the Rally Safe system in cases like this?

Hopper - first , Gill- second

Canterbury is NZ championship round. Hawkes Bay is not.
Never do anything you wouldn't want to explain to a paramedic.
