Khaled Al-Qassimi's 2007 plans ?
After 5 rounds, there has still been no sign of Khaled Al-Qassimi and his oil dollars in WRC. No Mitsubishi Lancer Middle East team, no Prodrive Impreza Middel east team.
He is keeping it close to home in the Middle East Championship ?R.I.P. all WRC heroes

I agree, it's weird. He secured the lucrative "Emirates" sponsorship from McLaren, so why doesn't he run? I mean it's normally the other way around with drivers having problems finding sponsorships.
I thought the Impreza deal was a sure thing ... but apparently not.Supporting Ogier in the WRC & Ferrari in F1 & Ducati in MotoGP.

Are you sure it was the Emirates sponsorship? Did the falling through of this deal not coincide with announcement of Etihad Airways sponsorship (another UAC airline), which is now appearing on the spykers' in f1?

I remember he had links with Etihad Airways not with Fly Emirates.

It was Emirates, not Etihad.
First leg he will be thinking in Portuguese championship. Then he can go for WRC2.
