6 Hours of Silverstone
I am planning to book a sunday ticket for the 6 Hours of Silverstone on April 20th.
I have been to the British GP before and BTCC events plus smaller club events, but I was just wanting some advice.
I have never actually been to an Endurance race before, despite watching plenty on TV, I was just wondering what I should be expecting.
I mean to be honest I find the hassle of a Grand Prix weekend Sunday too busy and while I realise the crowd wont be at that level I was just wondering if anyone had been before and knew how big the crowds are?
Also a general idea from anyone who has been to this or similar events.Last edited by steveaki13; 14th April 2014 at 21:30.

Re: 6 Hours of Silverstone
You will love it.
It will be no where near as busy, and full of hassle as F1. Roving grandstand, all free of charge, sit where you like. More than likely the pits lane, and paddock will be open before the race, for 45 mins or so.
Plenty of time, to walk around the track, whilest the race is on.
Don't expect all the trade stands of F1, there will be a few around the paddock area, a small fair. Burger vans dotted around the track.
As for the racing, lots of different sounding cars. The LMP 1's will blow your mind, how fast, and how quiet the diesels are. But how loud some of the other cars are.
It will be a good day, especially if its dry

Re: 6 Hours of Silverstone
sounds like a cool way to spend the day. I would be very keen to see the LMP1 cars at full gallop, and if possible close up in the pits. Post a little write up of the day if you get the chance

There's plenty of Ten Tenths forum members that will attend the race. Check around there, you will get more information and probably meet them as well.

Re: 6 Hours of Silverstone
Furious right now. I have just been told my broken foot means I cant do much for maybe as much as 4-6 months, meaning as I cant drive, I cant get to or get around Silverstone.
Looks like I will miss out after all.I still exist and still find the forum occasionally. Busy busy

The question is how much of a difference this non hybrid makes in terms of the rental. Even if it is some 10 % cheaper (doubt it is as much) it does not solve the current WRC issues, at all.
