I think that the championship is using the sponsorship to target their key demographic, and it's probably one of the reasons that the inaugural season was such a success.

As others have said, energy drinks are the latest big sponsor now that tobacco and booze are so frowned upon. There's so much money involved in it all that both teams and championships would be silly NOT to sell out. Even the WRC is now a Red Bull Media House deal, and without Red Bull it's difficult to say where the championship would be. Likewise a huge number of motorbike teams rely on income from Relentless. Yes it's crap, but it all keeps the sport running and maintains enough teams to make things interesting.

The right kind of story telling.
Without the support of Red Bull would probably WRC in very poor condition.
Can not blame the Monster Energy

So people are watching World RX because a certain energy drink is sponsoring it now ? If that's their aim & demographic then all they need is Mr Block and his 'gymkhana' stuff. Rally Cross is much better than that.

I believe that the exposure that comes with Monster Energy is certainly a reason why people are watching. They don't watch because of the drink, but they are made aware of the sport because of it.

I visited KMS Motorsport shakedown-test before departure to Portugal today.

The new KMS VW Polo in the hands of Johan Kristofersson looks amazing fast !
A maybe upload a clip on YouTube tomorrow.

Do you know if they will test more before Montalegre?
SDRX and Marklund Motorsport will be testing in Lousada in the coming days.
