Re: Red Kite Stages
Sorely tempted to do this one, downside is that it means an early start (don't like early)...but I haven't been rallying for months and I'm getting the urge

Re: Red Kite Stages
Pretty good entry - always a good event. As usual, lots of Escorts - would like to see a few others cars challenging. We should see 1 or 2 Fiat 131 Abarths soon - now that will be good to see, ' the Escort slayer'.
Is there a better sound than that of Porsche engined Flat-6 ???

Re: Red Kite Stages
Pretty much sure that I'm going to make the effort now. Not been to Crychan before, are there any specific spots for good viewing? Also can you drive straight across the ranges from Llywel or is it a case of going round the top? I've rarely venture much past the end of the Burma road so not really familiar with the area.

Re: Red Kite Stages
Yeah, was an alright day, nothing overly exciting but some good spots to watch. Didn't really get any pictures worth showing, didn't take any at all in the first stage and when I actually bother to try during the second stage it chucked it down and I struggled to get anythigng decent.

Re: Red Kite Stages
Apologies MrJan, I didn't pick up your question above until after the event! We had a decent day out in Crychan:

Leyton House even went bust after Newey left ;) McLaren did at least win a championship post-Newey (Hamilton in 2008). Williams' problem was losing both Newey and their works engine at the same...
