    Roger Penske to V8 Supercars?

I saw this same article at FOXsports. Is Roger Penske showing interest in entering V8 Supercars? Really odd timing, considering that V8s will not return to COTA in 2014 (and imo, won't be back there again ) Wonder, if he does get involved, if Brad Keselowski and/or Joey Logano will get to run a V8 Supercar race, at some point in the future? Wonder if there is anything to this or if it is just some kind of off season speculation? Time will tell, I guess. Here is the link:

Re: Roger Penske to V8 Supercars?

    Second report:
    http://www.v8x.com.au/index.php/9-news/ ... car-tie-in
With Ford's involvement in the series only locked in for 2014 with factory support to Ford Performance Racing and technical support for customer team Dick Johnson Racing, Ford NASCAR team Penske Racing is looking into the series with speculation it could be interested in sponsoring or acquiring a stake in the Australian teams.
Penske Racing president Tim Cindric (above right with Ford Performance Racing team co-owner Rusty French) and Ford's global motorsport manager Jamie Allison were guests of the factory Ford team at the Sydney 500 over the weekend.

With Ford officially ending production in Australia c.2016 and Ford Performance Racing being cut adrift for 2015, it'd make sense that they'd be looking to court someone to buy them out.

With Ford ending production of the Falcon, Holden 95% likely of terminating production of the Commodore, Nissan getting antsy about it's involvement and Erebus scaling back to two cars for 2014, everyone's future is looking a little sketchy.

Penske might very well be looking to do something in V8 Supercars. For what purpose I can't imagine though as there's no commercial reason for doing so. By the same token, the press here is looking for anything to jump on as the Australian car manufacturing industry is kicked to bits by Detroit.
The Old Republic was a stupidly run organisation which deserved to be taken over. All Hail Palpatine!
