2013 Driver Salary
What are the guesstimates for drive salaries this year??
Kimi seems to be on a lot. 8 million, plus 50k per point bonus which would be close 17 all up. Which makes it unsurprising that Lotus can't really afford him.
How much are the other guys making?

Re: 2013 Driver Salary
Lot of the guys seem to be quite cheap workers for their teams. Kimi seems to be paying this season out of his own pocket.
Apparently some other guys like Hulkenberg are missing paychecks for this season.C'est la vie ja taksi tuo.

Re: 2013 Driver Salary
I saw an article in crash.net recently. What I remember is:
-Alonso, Hamilton - 20 mln
-Rosberg, Vetel - 12 mln
-Webber 11mln
Massa 6 mln
Kimi 3mln
Grojan 1,5mln
of course they have large bonuses for points too

Re: 2013 Driver Salary
Crazy that Vettel earns almost half of what Fernando and Lewis do So much for the best being remunerated accordingly!

Re: 2013 Driver Salary
I think Kimi's salary problems at Lotus derive from him having a performance-based contract, which sees him earning most of the money based on results/points. However, the problem for Lotus is that this deal was signed in 2011 on the back of a difficult season for the Lotus/Renault team and Kimi has been collecting way more points than Lotus expected. I think in 2012 they somehow managed to pay him, but not in 2013 any more.
207 points last year, so far this year 183. I don't know, how much did they reasonably expect in late 2011 - around 100 pts per year? No wonder Kimi pondered about quitting participation in the last two races. Why go and collect points if you don't get the pay based on them anyway any more?

Re: 2013 Driver Salary
If Kimi does not show up for the last two races. It will be interesting to see another driver in an F1 race this season.
I still exist and still find the forum occasionally. Busy busy

Those of "questionable knowledge" will be the scientists. You might think that rocket science is hard but: Rocket Scientist: Someone who understands Newton's Laws of motion and basic chemistry....
