I thought I'd give you all an update on our flooding here , since you asked .

The water is going down , about a foot and a half so far .
It's still over rubber boot height , and I've had enough time in waders , so I'm waiting for a little more drop before gong into the basement to see the carnage again .

Tomorrow morning begins the task of washing river silt .

Hey Baggy, hope the damage isn't too bad. Been following the news about the flooding in your part of the country and it seems quite severe. Hope it all works out for you.

Around here the worst doesn't typically arrive until ~June

    Thanks , man .

Kinda dreading going down there .

It's not like a normal basement because it's an old mill , with water flowing beneath it all the time , just not normally through it .

    The water's gone now .
I was kinda hoping we'd catch a few bass in the flood , but no luck .

In the last flood , in '08 , we caught a muskrat . Poor little guy was scratching at the window trying to get out , until we showed him the hole in the floor to get out .

Gonna order some wood for some shelving to hang from the ceiling in the space , well above even this year's high water mark .
And , I am getting ready for a few dump runs .

Once again a horrible rainy day ruining the Easter midnight celebration.
The traditional visit to the cemetery will be spoilt by mud.......

Yesterday AM very very foggy, then around noon the fog cleared and the rest of the day was sunny with temps around +15C.
Today sunny all day and around +15-16C when it was as warmest.

Our spring came and went during the last two days. Winter will be back tomorrow
