    Re: Race results and comments

I hope you get a chance to watch the BSB races Rod, very exciting. Totally unexpected results in race 2. For Lowes, it's a lesson that you shouldn't assume another rider is always going to take exactly the same lines every lap. He made a move to pass Shakey Byrne who'd taken a slightly different line and crashed into the back of him. The move was a bit reckless anyway and could have caused more than bruises and bumps for Shakey. I didn't expect disqualification though, I thought he'd lose a few places. Kiyonari, nowhere in the first race and 3rd in the second due to all the DNFs. Nori Haga + Kawasaki seem to be a good combination and I thought he looked really comfortable on the bike and racing more like the old Nori, particularly in race two, shame he was taken out. So much action, even the commentators were gettng a bit heated.

    Re: Race results and comments

Chac......Thanks for the update. Wish we in Aus could get the transmission live.
It sounds to me as though Lowes' disqualification was imposed primarily because it was Byrne who suffered the consequences which would have squashed his chances of a title victory.
Nori Haga has always been great to watch. Love the guy's attitude. Nothing seems to ruffle his feathers.
    Cheers

    Valencia Finale
    Moto GP
Marquez rode a well managed race to clinch the Championship, an amazing feat in his rookie year. Lorenzo’s tactics in forcing Pedrosa off the track on one occasion are under investigation by race direction.

    1. Jorge Lorenzo Yamaha Factory Racing (YZR-M1)
    2. Dani Pedrosa Repsol Honda Team (RC213V)
    3. Marc Marquez Repsol Honda Team (RC213V)
    4. Valentino Rossi Yamaha Factory Racing (YZR-M1)
    5. Alvaro Bautista Go&Fun Honda Gresini (RC213V)

    Moto2
Really good racing and good result for the Aussies with West in 8th.

    1. Nicolas Terol SPA Aspar Team Moto2 (Suter)
    2. Jordi Torres SPA Aspar Team Moto2 (Suter)
    3. Johann Zarco FRA Came Iodaracing Project (Suter)
    4. Simone Corsi ITA NGM Mobile Racing (Speed Up)
    5. Esteve Rabat SPA Tuenti HP 40 (Kalex)

    Moto 3
Salom was riding well until he dropped the bike and his chances of winning the title. A deserved win by Vinales from Folger and Rins. Jack Miller was in there with a chance for a podium finish but dropped it.

    1. Maverick Viñales SPA Team Calvo (KTM)

Thanks for posting, Rod. Obviously things are pretty quiet here, but it's been a big season and it goes without saying that Marquez has been superb (although Jorge and Dani have of course kept him honest).

A few more thoughts on the year may arrive at a later date.
