I haven't heard anything about it since.
That article is possibly quoting that Toyota are negotiating with the FIA a move back towards a GpA class structure? ie which realistically translates to R1, R2, R3 classes.

There are so many rumours about how the World Rally Car and S2000 category will be phased out in time? Where R5 will become top, but R5 is not like the other R categories as it allows bodywork and driven wheel changes from road car.

2015 is not far away at all

while developing the car/s we'll see lots of tests videos throughout the whole 2014

and here comes the 2015 in a blink of an eye

no better way to cast a shadow on the Empire's dominance

Subaru would need a 1.6L performance motor and a car small enough to compete. Most signs for the new WRX/STI point to something the size of the current Impreza, which is fairly large for a WRC car.

    Re: WRC-2 season 2013

Subaru Trezia with a 1600 engine, is their best current option to go R5 or WRC.

Re: Return of the Two Samurai - Mitsubishi & Subaru

I was hoping the new WRX would be a bit smaller than the Impreza, but most of the rumors I hear don't seem to bear this out. The Trezia looks well sized but I'd think since it's a rebadged Toyota it would be competing with a T logo, unless Toyota's rally efforts are part of a clever plan to bring back Subaru without anyone suspecting...
