If Porsche are to make R3 car, they will probably use a VW 1600 engine, and if they are to downsize on the engine, I guess they will do that on the Cayman first.

What a great start of the R3T in French championship: after only 4 stages Lefebre is already over a minute behind in his DS3!

Has anyone seen the steering wheel on the new Clio?
On the left theres a rotary switch for engine mapping modes ranging from 1 to 4. One is for road section the others are different settings for the anti-lag system (low to full boost) and "pedal law" settings.
On the right side there's another rotary switch for the Traction Control. Again ranging from 1 to 4, from 0 to soft, medium and hard settings. Being the medium setting recommended for gravel and the hard setting for wet or very loose surfaces.
Do you think this will give the car a big advantage over the DS3? (considering also that it has a more powerful engine), or maybe traction control is there to prevent excess wheel spin on gravel or wet surfaces which would make the car hard to handle due to so much torque (480Nm) and front wheel drive only.
I'd really like to hear your opinion on this matter because this new Clio really seems like a worthy contender, even to the DS3 Max.Last edited by hofmannr; 26th September 2014 at 05:15.

Is there much difference between the engine of an R3T car and R5? Could we see Renault move into R5?

Would like to see the GT86 on a gravel test, with a really good gravel driver, Maybe Petter or Henning Solberg have the time.
You're a 100% right. FIA should rattle the manufacturer's cage. Take the compromise or go. Rally 1s are dead in the water. If manufacturers don't agree, make Rally 2s as they are now the top category...
