Followed Alex during his champ car years and was gutted not see him race at Rockingham in 2001, everyone thought he would not make it through that week, and eleven years later he has won races in WTCC, won the New York Marathon, and now this. Inspiring man and a true gent, even if Bryan Herta doesn't think so....

    Well done Alex.

What an achievement, and at the age of 45 it's doubly impressive.

    Congrats on the Gold medal.

    His autobiography is thoroughly recommended.

What he went through by overcoming adversit, after that horrific crash in Lausitz in 2001 is quite simply incredible.

Alex is awesome, I remember him in CART and he was great, I remember him in WTCC and he was great and he is great now, regardless of his lack of success in F1. A true legend!

Hats off to Alex!! He may be the first driver to win an Olympic Gold Medal. Now Bernie can give his Medal System a rest. For those who are not familiar with Alessandro Zanardi, check out his overtaking in Cork Screw Laguna Seca. Mental!
    Forza Jules! Forza Michael!

Absolutely fantastic. I'd put this alongside his championships in level of achievement.
