    Tony Cotman has left

Heard this past weekend that Tony Cotman is stepping down (new guy already started) from on site operations - he wasn't at Toronto and will not be at Edmonton as he has joined Mikey to be the onsite 'heavy' for Baltimore.

Apparently VP Will Phillips & engine guy Trevor Knowles are stepping in

KORETZKY RESIGNS AS INDYCAR CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

INDIANAPOLIS (Thursday, July 12, 2012) - INDYCAR announced today that Marc Koretzky has resigned as Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.

"We wish Marc the best of luck as he moves on to the next chapter in his career," said Randy Bernard, CEO, INDYCAR.

Koretzky joined INDYCAR in May 2011 as Director of Business Development. He led the management of commercial activities and non-racing events around the 2011 IZOD INDYCAR World Championships, including the parade of 34 cars down the Las Vegas strip in primetime. In December 2011, Koretzky was promoted to Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the day-to-day organizational operations of INDYCAR, as well as fostering communication and synergies across the company's commercial and operations units.

The responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer will be split among current INDYCAR staff members for the interim as the organization evaluates long-term staffing plans.

Tony Cotman stepping down, leaving, fired (?). The guy who made ChampCar exciting, the sensible voice within the Indycar fraternity. And yet only three people have seen reason to speak on this topic. Had expected a more demonstrative response to this news due to its importance .

Thanks for info. Is he a maverick as he seems to flit around doing various jobs with no obvious upward progression. Maybe he is just enjoying himself but would like ( I think ) for his talents to be utilised by the Series itself.
