I started watching F1 in 2003 (Newbie). I had bought a F1 Racing Season Preview magazine to get more info on the series, drivers, tracks, etc...I decided to follow Fernando Alonso because he was a newer driver who seemed to have a lot of promise/talent. Obviously since he's w/McClaren now that is the team that I follow even though I still have my Renault tobacco team shirt.

I began supporting Alonso in Australia 2003 because I knew he and the Renault team would be competitive and I never liked any of the big three. After Hungary 2003 my support for Alonso outgrew my support for Renault but I honestly did not believe he would leave that team. When he moved to McLaren I was shocked but I stuck with him and for good reason!
