Cobblers
I was reading in the newspaper this morning that our city has a shortage of qualified shoe repairers. A lot of people are rejecting cheap throwaway footwear in favour of quality repairable products which has lead to a big increase in business in recent times. Quake affected central city businesses had to relocate but are doing well in new locations and the owners are reaching out to other countries for experienced shoe repairers. One owner who is nearing retirement is looking for someone to take over his business. The changing environment that is Christchurch these days is a challenge but if you can deal with that and some shaking of the ground beneath your feet come on down to N.Z.

South Auckland - the local shoe repairer closed at least 2 years ago now. People wanted their shoes/ bags etc repaired but did not come back to collect their items and to pay for the repairs.
I doubt you will see too many tradespeople from up here if they can earn 3x their NZ pay in Aus.
