I read the FIA regulations for the EHRC. The regulations are saying, that for safety reasons, mid- and rear-engined two-seater racing cars shall not be admitted to this Championship. Is there a special rule that the Lancia 037, which is definetely a mid enginend two seater, may take part in the championship? If yes, are there any other special rules that cars like the R5 Turbo are also allowes to take part in the championship? If I am right, according to this regulation it should be possible to start in the EHRc with an Audi Sport quattro E2.

I don't know exactly the rules but Lancia 037 is newly allowed to score points this season, Stratos were allowed already before. Audi Sport Quattro sure not. Only older Quattro before gr.B - up to 1981 (I think).
By the way Guy Callum had a frontal crash on shakedown and is probably out of the rally.Stupid is as stupid does. Forrest Gump

Below I quote the FIA regulations for the Category 4 cars
"Category 4: Touring (T), Competition Touring (CT), Grand Touring (GT) and Competition Grand Touring (GTS) cars of Groups A and B, models homologated between 1/1/1982 and 31/12/1985 (Period J1 - see 2.2 below)E1 Group A up to 1600 cm3E2 Group A over 1600 cm3E3 Group B up to 1600 cm3 E4 Group B over 1600 cm3In the case of supercharging (see definition in the current Appendix J), the nominal cylinder capacity of all the cars will be multiplied by 1.4 and each car will belong to the class corresponding to the fictive cylinder capacity thus obtained. All cars must be registered for open public road use.For safety reasons, mid- and rear-engined two-seater racing cars shall not be admitted to this Championship.2.2 Period J1 cars 2.2.1 Cars listed in Art. 1.1 of Appendix XI of Appendix K are allowed."
When i understood the regulations correctly it has never been a problem for the Stratos, because it was already homologated before 1/1/1982. I think the Quattro Sport should be eligable to the championship under category 4, E4. By the way Toto Riolo drove a Quattro A2 at the San Remo Storico this year and this car was definteley homologated after 1/1/1982. I think it was in 1983 if I am right.

I really don't know historic regulations, sorry. I though there was some explicit list of banned cars like Audi Quattro Sport, Peugeot 205 T16, Lancia Delta S4 or Ford RS200.

I really doubt it. And even if they do, does Ogier care? He came for the win.
