Compared to MSport, Citroen had a full extra year to develop the C3. Plus the factory resources. Didnt help them much did it...

And why anyone wants dominace?? I stop watching World RX this year because of VW. Sure is great but it's NOT interesting if you know who will win... This year was great and I hope that it will continue, and that battle will go donw to last round maybe one or two driver more in the game and we will all bite our nails to the end. That's what I call exciting, not some team who beat everyone everytime and looks like that there is no competition.

Fans may not want dominance, but the team's are here for business. One way or the other. Don't you think M-Sport want to be as successful as possible?

For the sake of the WRC, I really hope this does not happen to M-Sport.
I get what you mean but don't think it is a valid analogy in this context. Brawn had a single massive first mover advantage over the rest of the F1 field with their stepped rear diffusor, giving their car a huge grip advantage in the early part of the year. You are right that they only just held on in the latter part of the season as the other better funded teams brought on many developments, including their own versions of the diffusor. But the Fiesta at the beginning of 2017 did not have a single big tech advantage. I would go as far as to say it was never the fastest car at any of the events per se. The advantages it had were firstly Ogier, secondly it seemed to work to a reasonable standard over a wider range of conditions than the others and finally and possibly most importantly, it was more reliable than the others (both mechanically and through the drivers getting it to the finish).

I don't however disagree that the Hyundai has upped its pace in the latter part of the season and without further development the Fiesta will struggle to match it in 2018, even with Ogier on board.

As an aside, I still have high hopes that the benefit of Toyota's first year will be seen in 2018, especially with Tanak in there now as well.

Meanwhile, I share the scepticism of others as to Citroen's chances next year. The only thing they seem to be good at is shooting themselves in the foot!

Which rally or national championship is still allowing WRC cars, and especially 2017 ones ?

They still allow WRC cars to run in Irish events but only R5's can score in the ITC.
