Scary, dangerous or crazy places in stages of WRC or other rallies.

IMO the Great Orm looks quite scary. Lowest elevation is 20 m and highest elevation 130 m and not much room for errors on the right side.

But this is crazy. Monte 1964 run on this stage in the dark when the gravel road was covered with snow and ice. By the book it’s 600 m to the bottom of the “ditch”. Does anyone know where this Esparrone road is?

Do you have any pictures of scary, dangerous or crazy places in some stages?

There's a couple of places in Dyfi and Gartheiniog this year with big fresh air drops on the outside of a few bends.

For me stage Lantosque - Lucerám of Monte Carlo. Part of the road is surrounded only by a tiny wall (like 10-20 cm high), part by nothing. We usually drive through to Turini and sitting on the "wrong" side especially in a high thing like VW Transporter doesn't make me feel good When I asked Štajf what he thinks about it, he told me that it's good to run it in the dark as You can't see down

Here a screen from google street view, close to Lantosque.

From our stages it is definitely last third of Pindula in the opposite direction to the current one (last run in 2007). It's crazy fast downhill in the wood on a road which is so angled that with normal car You are still touching ground even in a very slow speed...

Than Irish Knockalla comes to my mind

The first that comes to my mind is the famous stage of Rally Acores (sorry, I don't remember the name) where the drivers go to the top of the mountain surrounded by big falls, awesome! You can see some of them here:

Also, what about the rallies in Iceland, really love that landscape

It would not feel me good either. I don’t like high places.

The videos look dangerous but at the same time they are spectacular.

I don’t know how scary this is but it’s a video when Petter made the ever-fastest time on Ouninpohja.

WRC - Petter Solberg Onboard WR - Ouninpohja - Part 1 - YouTube

3:20 the big jump. If I remember correctly Markko came to this jump with a speed of 178 km/h when he made the record jump.

5.50 This is also an interesting jump because there’s a right hand corner just after the jump. The jump doesn’t look so deep on the video but it’s a quite deep jump to the bottom (as Colin made it).

6:24 here starts the fast section as you can probably hear from the engine sound.

Reminds me one stage from Rally China. I don't know the name but Jussi Valimakki used to have an onboard on his website some time a go.

Yes, I remember that spot when I watched the Acores at Eurosport. There was also a similar place in Safari rally several years ago.

Does the drivers take it safely on this kind of stages? At least I haven’t heard about any driver dropping in a deep “ditch”.
