Roads, streets, Indy, and short ovals like Iowa/Milwaukee. That's a perfectly reasonable mix of tracks (assuming there are a good 3-4 short ovals to choose from). Absolutely, the cookie cutters need to be done away with until if/when the cars have been deemed safe enough to drive them - & personally, as "safe" as we presume the DW2012 to be, a full season of racing will just scratch the surface of its pros/cons. The current/expired Dallara had its faults for sure, but it was highly developed in terms of raceability and safety, and to a certain extent that long lifespan has to give it any edge over ANY "new" car that has barely any track time, let alone any race time.
