    2007 - whats going on?

I just wanted to see how everyone thinks 2007 is shaping up?

    1 x confirmed manufacturer (VXR) x 2 - S2000 cars
    1 x likely manufacturer (Seat) x 2 - Seat Leon's

no other manufacturers looking like they will sign up:-

Alfra struggling -and have reduced the number of entrants in the WTCC
BMW -officially said no to BTCC for 07
Chevrolet -they cant compete in the same series as sister compay VXR
    Ford - WRC commitments
Honda - said they would be back in 2006, and didnt show -F1 commitments

    Independents:

    Team Dynamics x 2/3 cars? (S2000)
    Arena International x 2 cars? (S2000) - TBC
    Kartworld Racing x 2 (S2000) + 1 x BTCC spec MG - TBC
    WSR - TBC
    Techspeed - TBC
    BTCC Racing - TBC
    Others???????????????????????????????

The BTCC is better for not having a load of manufacturers in the series, it keeps egos and more importantly budgets in check, makes for much more long term stability and a better atmosphere in the paddock. It's also great that under the BTCC rules an independant can prep thier own cars and beat the manufacturer backed teams (Team Dynamics are the perfect example). As the BTCC heads into Super 2000 rules I have mixed emotions about the propect, obviously it means that virtually all of the national touring car championships are being run to the same regulations which means economies of scale for manufacturers and a wider selection of equipment for privateers to choose from, but I always liked the BTCC rules as you could run smaller 2/3 door cars which are in general a little more sporty than your average 4/5 door family car. I expect the BTCC is have a healthy grid in 2007, manufacturers or not it will still produce some of the best racing out there.
