No need to be sad since neither of the two races LADA are racing in clash with any round in the BTCC, so that possibility is as open as it ever was.

theres a buzz going around Facebook and looks like we could see a turbo Cruze and another new face and team on the BTCC grid if he can get the sponsorship and funding. that being multi euro saloons champion Richard Hawken and his team Richspeed Racing, who for the last couple of year has been racing an ex RML ex David Leslie Nissan Primera.

Look at the name of the account name:

    then read this:

Rickard Rydell 2011 STCC CHAMPION!!! :D

While I wish him all the luck in the world and while I like to see new faces on the grid, some of the points made on the eBay page are ludicrous. Here are my edited highlights:

The Silverstone Classic is going to be the largest event ever in motorsport history.
The BTCC has a global audience reach of 11bn people.
20 million people watched EACH race last year (that would make the BTCC the top 10 most-watched broadcasts of last year in the UK, beating the Royal Wedding by 7 million viewers for EVERY round!)
BTCC is more popular than Premiership Football.
Attracts more spectators than the British GP (strictly true but not in the sense that is being implied)

I know these are tough times, but if I were a potential sponsor, I'd be really pissed off about being mislead.

EDIT: After a Google search it seems the forums over at Ten-Tenths also found these stats to be a little alarming. http://www.ten-tenths.com/forum/show....php?p=3021119

I would guess in marketing terms those stats are accurate.

    Keep up Tixy54.

RML have announced they are not coming back to the BTCC. TouringCarTimes - BTCC: Chevrolet withdraw from the BTCC
Apparently MacDowell has a test with Motorbase lined-up as their possible third driver alongside Jackson and Griffin. TouringCarTimes - BTCC: Alex MacDowall to test for Motorbase

Onslow-Cole should announce soon that he is coming back in a RWD car.
And Gilham is due to announce he is returning in a FWD car.
