    Stefan Bellof (1957 - 1985)

I am not sure if there is a thread about this man already on this forum, but I feel we were robbed of a great on 1st of September 1985 when he crashed in 1000km of Spa World Sportscar Championship.

In the wet 1984 Monaco GP driving a Tyrell he was catching race leader Alain Prost by 4.5 seconds per lap while Ayrton Senna in a Toleman, the rain master, was catching him by 4 seconds until race officials stopped the race after 31 laps because it was too wet to continue.

This is just a thread dedicated to a up and coming legend that never got a chance to show us just how good he really was...

    RIP

Yes, who knows what might have been.

...teammate Derek Bell felt Bellof's death was caused by lack of discipline in his driving style, and that the blame for his death lay with those around Bellof, including team personnel, who should have allowed him to mature....
