Welcome to the Round 1 of the 2011 GP2 Two Worlds Prediction Competition!

The Istanbul Park circuit will be the place of of the opening of 2011 GP2 Series championship. The drivers did their preseason tests, but now is the time of truth and see if the GP2 Asia contenders could match with newcomers and series returnées. The show is about to begin!

In all GP2 race weekends, we'll post our predictions for these items: race 1 polesitter, top 8 finishers of Race 1, top 6 finishers of Race 2 and fastest lap scorers of races 1 and 2. The deadline will be at 10:00 AM GMT Hour of Friday, May 6th.

The opening rounds at Istanbul Park gave us Grosjean as race winner - it seems his form in the Asian season has continued. Alas, Coletti also took a win in the Sprint race. With this, 2011 GP2 Two Worlds Prediction Competition opens a new season with these results:

Congrats to [b]Josef1 (CB), the opening round winner! Mention to Robbe (TT), who notched correctly two of the three podium finishers of Race 1 in correct positions. Alas, congratulations to all 42 concursants for the interest they showed in this new season!
Ten-Tenths starts the Forums Championship at the top, folloewd by Autosport and CarAndDriverTheF1. ClubF1 did a good leap respect from previous season going up to 5th, and newcomer Motorsport Forums closes the ranks.
Observations:
R00 Championship:
- Lam Pak (TT): Put Bird twice (2nd and 3rd) in his predictions, so these parts of it weren't valid.
- renaultargentina (TH): Ommited 6th of Teams Championship.
- facha (LT): Put Bird twice (4th and 6th) in his forecasts, so these parts of it weren't valid, too.
- pelagra (TH): Posted predictions for Championship Round only.
R01 Istanbul:
- runshaw (LT): Put Bianchi twice (2nd and 4th) in his R1 predictions, so these parts of it aren't valid.
- Speedworx (LT): Entered Bird twice (4th and 6th) in his R1 predictions, so these parts of his predictions aren't valid, too.
