For some reason, or just a coincidence, the smartest states tend to be in north and the dumbest ones in south. The only noticeable exception was Alaska, which is in the north. But it's not a surprise, since they have Sarah Palin.

In common with its Scandanavian neighbours Finland is very tolerant of homosexuality and has progressive laws protecting the rights of gays and lesbians.
