There's a German brand Montana that tries to be more American than anything American and excels at that. I have a pair of ultratight Montanas that give the best hair metal star looks there is. My wife who was born in 1983 and hates metal hates those jeans, too.

It's all well and good until you go bald and start looking like the lead singer from The Scorpions

    Jeans

I wear Jeans quite a lot, obviously not for work. But I would never spend a lot of money on named Jeans,as I feel it's how the jeans fit,and how comfortable they feel.I can pick up Jeans here in Spain in Carrefour for 6 Euros that fit me well ,feel very comfortable, even after driving 800 miles in a day too. When I was last in Canada I bought some black stretch jeans for about 12 dollars, really comfortable, and they told me sold lots of them to the truckers that ran down to Mexico and Florida,

I've never paid more than around £40 for a pair of jeans. Hazel, I'm surprised you'd spend so much of a pair of jeans when you do so much ordoorsy stuff. I would have always assumed that you'd go for cheap and cheerful as you wouldn't then be bothered if you ruined them.
You are possibly one of the most snide people I've 'met' on here - the regular comments on my life, area I live in and so on are wearing thin. I buy what I like and pay cash. If I can afford and I want, I buy. I can afford horses, two houses and a stable yard so a pair of bloody jeans are hardly a major outlay
While we're at it, I indoors too. Casino the other night, theatre last week. Want to start telling me you're shocked I wear a gown and carry Osprey now?

I know. With just about everything except clothes I try my best to buy British, but you just cannot get jeans made here. Most clothes made here are either really shoddy or thousands of pounds (or both). Bought some really nice Joules tweed the other day (all their stuff is made in China) because the Brit alternative was frankly ten times the price, a worse fit and no better quality.

Having said I buy British when possible, I recently gave in buying our pork and bacon for lent. The bloody farmers were screaming 'Buy British!' in the pig market car park, with nothing but their foreign built cars and lorries parked behind them. They aren't bothered where their cars, dog food and all the rest come from, so I refuse to fund them until summer now. :

    Anyhow, I digress. Sorry.

Doesnt the hair metal look involve loincloths, ala Manowar?

Bottom line is jeans are uncomfortable for whatever you would like to do while wearing them.
