Stohl Racing to devellop an electric S2000 for 2012 !!!!

    Hi,

I've just learnt that well known austrian driver Manfred Stohl wants to put an electric engine in the bonnet of his 207 S2000 for racing it in 2012 season
He associated with a german company, and created "e-rally" me thinks to understand...

Has he competed in that natural gas Evo IX he raved about some three years back?

How would an electric rally car sound? That's an safety issue as well.

He developed CNG Evo IX, Impreza N12 and Peugeot 207 S2000 already. About the electric car - why not? The problem will be weight of accumulators and small distance the car can run. I know something about this thanks to my brother who is working in development of electric formula for inter-university contest Formula SAE.

This is very first time when it run two weeks a go (just a taxi run to verify basic functions)

I have been looking at converting my Charade Rally car to electric. On our current figures we wreckon we can get at most about 120km distance in rally mode. One of the options we have is to make a removable battery pack that can be swapped over at service. This can be an issue with weight distribution though.

We may do this next year but have other projects currently.
