Not that it really matters but it was an articulated front end loader not a tow truck.

the tow truck was pulling the front end loader, which is what caused it to hit the car

Don't mention people crashing into parked cars to me, due to a recent incident that will be ongoing for some time I fear........... Yet police are not interested despite us having proof of crimes being commited.......

I saw the front loader one also. That guy did not give a hoot about the

I have heard that if there is a storm forecast and people are parked on a designated street for plowing the city is not responsible if they damage the car. Usually they just push the snow right on top of it.

I do not know about the US but many towns and cities in Canada have a no parking on the street anywhere from 1 to 3 and then to 6am or even later. This is especially true in the snow belt where I live. Usually well posted on the entrances to the towns and on the streets.
Some bigger cities like Barrie (135000) have a shorter no parking period downtown where the bars are.
The period usually starts mid November and goes to mid April.
Hope that makes sense. I am so befuddled with the flu I am not sure of what I am writing.
