Seems like the drama of the Gauteng Rally may finally be over. The results of the court of enquiry into the event have been released. According to what I understand both Johnny Gemmell and Conrad Rautenbach have been excluded from the results of that event, although Rautenbach DNF'd anyway. Also all the short cutting penalties may be dropped, but that only effects 2 competitors. Will wait for final results before adjusting the championship points.

Off to Round 6 tomorrow, The Garden Route rally...

Roads are VERY narrow, tight and rough, finishing rate is going to be very low, sadly i see this as a rally of survival as opposed to full out racing.

    Will report back next week.

That was easily the most technical rally i have ever done, but enjoyable non the less.

The event base was spectacular, highlighting the Garden Route in all its glory,

I made the comment that if we could have the PE roads on this rally it will very quickly become the favourite event in my books, and probably an awesome WRC candidate.

Our event had its ups and downs, unfortuantely a very costly gearbox failure in the penultimate stage, we managed to fit a new unit with only 14 minutes lateness and managed to maintain our top 10 spot. Our crew and the Toyota Motorsport guys did a sterling job getting us back on the road.

Penultimate round of the SA champs this weekend, the Toyota Dealer Cape Rally, its one of my favourites, fast and flowing, good crowds and beautiful scenery.

Leaving for Cape Town tomorrow, will report back next week.
