Mini will contest next year's Argentina-Chile Dakar with an All4 Racing developed and run by the Monster Energy X-Raid team.
The car, which has been built in just 90 days, will be driven by Dakar expert Guerlain Chicherit. The project was first discussed in the summer of 2009, when X-Raid team director Sven Quandt began looking at the feasibility of the project.
Quandt then held initial discussions with automotive engineering and manufacturing company Magna Steyr and BMW to see whether the new model was a realistic replacement for the BMW X3 CC - which has earned the Trebur-based team three successive FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rally titles since 2008.

Hopefully not, Peterhansel could do some force.
But rationally spaking, VW teams hasthe best drivers, the best equipment and the best preparation for winning easily once again.
I still hiope Peterhansel talent, and the X3 speed.
I still doubt about ts reliability and the Xraid, while being an excellent team, is still one step down to the VW team.
What to thnk about Gordon´s Humer? it is an amazing car to watch, but this yearhis team is reduced to 10 people, and his support crew, Eliseo salazar is not the best. i am sure Eliseo will try to show speed ad crash too often, Luckily the Hummer is may be the most difficutl car to brake down!Zeque

Well, BMW might be real force to recognize. Peterhansel can neutralize much of the car disadvantage with his skill.
Does Sainz have the spirit to repeat his win? He becomes 49 this year! Does Al Attyah have the nerves to keep the rules and not to crash two Dakar races in a row? Well, Devilliers looks to be the toughest competitor for the win (in my eyes). Good warm-up for Monte!Colins Crest = Möldri Mätas

Kris Nissen has some explanation to do before the board of VW, about sexual heresment to an Audi staff woman in Macau last month. Also Juta Kleinschmidt and Tina Turner have big complains about Kris Nissen. If VW is going to a WRC program, it will not be with Nissen I guess.

Wet conditions. Portuguese Autosport brought something to the table... the WRC2 crews are using a WRC spec tyre that is harder than the spec Meeke and other CPR runners are using.
