    - give Neubauer a 2017-spec WRC
and then maybe Neubauer finally wins by 0,1 sec over Mundl
Well, some of you have a very short memory : at Rebenland Neubauer told already few days before rally started that he is going for victory. At the same time Mundl was very carefull with words, because knowing the specification and the weather prediction (it was sunny & dry), he knew it is going to be mission impossible...and that what happened.
At Lavantall the story was oposite-Mundl knew that this is his chance, the weather cooperated with him, Neubauer had technical issues...It is no excuse for WRC drivers, but guys-Mundl has at least 2.000-3.000 racing km with R5 under his belt (again not forget-he was involved in test phase), Neubauer one rally and app.100 test km....
So, think also this way....and listen carefully to the statements before they attack stages...

No, the weather didn't cooperate with Mundl. It was the same for both drivers

Are the testing kms so important? Kubica won 2014 Janner Rally driving Ford Fiesta RRC for the first time. It didn't matter that Baumschlager was driving his Skoda Fabia S2000 for years

It is not so difficult to beat Mundl, really... All you need is talent, not a stronger engine.

I dont know why there must be always excuses. Baumschlager has won this time, Neubauer last time. Finished.
As well as Baumschlager fairly said he had no chance in Rebenland it was quite clear on the stages that this time Neubauer was nowhere to his Rebenland performance.

At next austrian championship round Wechselland Rallye the WRC cars will have a bigger advantage again, but I'm quite sure that already in Schneebergland Rallye the winner will be Baumschlager again, as it is a drivers rally with demanding stages. And especially the suspension settings of the BRR cars are just fabulous if you look at all the videos. Especially on gravel.

It's good for the championship. It will be a very interesting fight during the season. I hope none of the title contenders has an DNF early in the season, it could ruin the fight.

Well, I think if you check the powerstagetimes you canīt say Neubauer isnīt fast, 20 sec on 27 kms over Baumschlager isnīt bad, the broken driveshaft on Friday was bad luck, the wrong tirechoice on Saturday morning was maybe some kind of desperate decision, + he had a puncture in the afternoon...

In the next 3 tarmac rounds the WR car will give Neubauer more advantage, in the 2 gravel rounds he will most likely suffer from his limited gravel and event knowledge, so overall it can be an exciting championship this year.

Yes, but then you also have to take into consideration that with that big lead Baumschlager was in no need at all to push on the last stage. Why should he risk to loose 25 points to maybe get one point more.

On the first run Baumschlager already did nearly the same time as Neubauer in the Powerstage. So it would probably have been again very close.

Nobody says that Neubauer is not fast, but one the other hand there is no need to hype him as well.
Lets be happy that we have this fight.

Neubauer also had a wrong tyre choice this time - itīs not only driving fast, but also things like these, which can decide the championship. So Iīm not sure if Neubauer would have been the winner again without his broken driveshaft.

But I wonder why Mundl didnīt attack on powerstage too, as Neubauer is still in front of him in championship now.
