Of course rules in Austria wouldn´t have been changed without Baumschlager´s OK, but I think it would have been the same for instance in Belgium with Loix or other countries.

Problem in Austria is mainly about money. Stohl Racing completely retired from rallying (except for China), Harrach´s Fiesta R5 and Stohl´s DS3 R5 stand in their garages all year long, potential rivals don´t manage to get a budget or fail after some time (Harrach, Andreas Aigner, Chris Brugger, Franz Wittmann jun. etc.) , the two biggest rallies are either gone (Jänner Rallye) or in jeopardy for 2016 (Waldviertel Rallye) and so on.

I still wouldn't be surprised if Baumschlager wins the 2016 championship even with other Austrian drivers in WRCs. Any news on Andreas Aigner?

No News - his WRC funding campaign didn´t work, but he obviously doesn´t even find the budget for an ERC or on a lesser level an Austrian national program. A bit similar to Harrach.

If exists a guy that can buy a VW Polo WRC privateer, it is Baumschlager.

That's a bit funny statement when we have in the sport some guys who can buy the whole VW Motorsport...

About private VW, I read a rumor that kenyan Manvir Singh Baryan could buy one (and Laukkanen would drive his Fiesta R5).

Simon Wagner is showing his great talent at Rally Waldviertel, last run of Austrian championship:

    http://www.waldviertel-rallye.at/2015/results/ss3.htm

After day 1 (3 stages) with his old Mitsu Evo VII on 6th position, leaving 3 R5/S2000 cars behind him. OK it´s gravel, but it´s still a great show by him.
