Gareth MacHale was welcomed back to the finish ramp at the Silversprings Moran Hotel after successively defending his Cork 20 crown from last year and also having become the new tarmac champion. Gareth took advantage of Tim McNulty's time loss on stage 13 to storm through and win the rally by 1.9 secs. Craig Breen took third and Group N.
Another major upset was Marty McCormack forced to retire with a broken driveshaft and handing the Citroen championship to Robert Barrable. Alaistar Fisher finished 4th here today.
Edward O’Callaghan has won the National section in his Escort. Mark Falvey is Cork 20 Historic champion while Jack Newman was 1st Junior home in this Orchard Motorsport backed event.
The celebrations will continue tonight when the prizegiving gets underway at 9:30pm in the Silversprings Moran Hotel Conference Centre.
