In 1975, Richard Petty won 13 races enroute to his then record 6th Championship in real life, beating 2nd place Dave Marcis by 722 points using the Latford points system.
His arch-nemisis, the "Silver Fox" David Pearson only raced in 21 of the 30 races that year, and finished 14th in the standings in real life. Lets see how the season shakes out using the FIA points system:

A record 54 drivers scored at least 1 point this season, and obviously the King pummled the competition, just as he did in real life, with his 235 points over P2 also being a record. His 15.9 points per race just missed being the record, as you will see later. Using the the top 15 in FIA points as a stat board for the rest of the field, the groups avg start was 9.7, and avg finish was 13.6, and the top 15 averaged starting 26.3 of the 30 races. The top 8 of the group acounted for all 30 race wins. The group also compiled record lows of Running AT Finish average (16.6 of 30 races) and Lead Lap Finish (3.9 of 30 races which is a 14.97% finishing percentage).

The Bud Pole award winner of this group would have been David Pearson, with 7 poles.

to Richard Petty, Both the 1975 Winston Cup, and 1975 FIA Cup Champion!
