The PCC's job is to consider complaints about articles in newspapers. The most complained about article in its history was a pieceappearing in the Daily Mail written by Jan Moirabout the death of former Boyzone singer Stephen Gately, which many judged to be insulting and homophobic. The PCC found no case to answer, and Moir was not sacked by her boss at the Mail, one Paul Dacre.
