Quite few of those Taxi Cab drivers grew up on dirt tracks, most in stockers but some in Midgets and Sprint Cars.
Sarah Fisher raced Sprint Cars on dirt. I do not think any other current Indy driver did except maybe Davy Hamilton.

Calling the dirt roads of the day "streets" is a bit of a stretch anyway. If anything, they should have been called dirt "road races". By 1903, "cars" were racing on a dirt ovals at Milwaukee. Most early racing history was built on dirt ovals - sometimes horse tracks and sometimes dedicated auto tracks.

So then Rally is the Heritage of US autoracing. I like that!!!

Considering he has ZERO time racing on an Oval track in a type of car he has never sat in before he did O.K.

Now lets get Bowyer, Edwards or Stewart in a Rally Car and lets see how they do?
