I like to see Safari back in the WRC calender, too. Some classic events should be in the WRC calender every year, I think Safari is one of them.
Waiting for Subaru to come back to be :champion:

Feasibly by 2013 we could have a championship with 4+ manufacturers and both the Safari and the Monte reinstated. This is just the latest in ISC's wave of proposed improvements that take the sport forward by essentially moving it back fifteen years.
I hope they start undoing some of the tyre regs next. Followed by 3-car works teams.RS Motorsport Media - Follow me on Instagram: rsmotorsportmedia

Good news, been watching the past events and can't believe it's not in the calendar anymore Absolutely spectacular.
Have they got a date for the 2010 event yet?If the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off!

The bigest issue behind the Safari gaining a spot in the WRC again is the safety aspect. At the moment the stages are still on open roads with 'Jo Public' able to come and go as they please. To block off every single track and man entire stages would require more manpower than the organisers can find at the moment.
The 2010 Safari is using new stages in an effort to find roads that are easier to control, but rallying is still extremely popular in Kenya and the crowds are used to doing things the old fashioned way so fingers crossed it works.
Jamie - the date is 2-4 April :-)
The Rally GB event doesn’t run anymore. The was always other events using the forests at different times anyway.
