Can the older headz here give me more info on this car/race program that was rarely raced in the mid 80s?



Just found the 1986 Watkins Glen race, just did a web search and found out it won the race - Doh! Hate it when that happens, more enjoyment and appreciation of drivers (eg. Al Holbert) from not knowing who wins.

Two car team. One car driven by John Watson and David Hobbs, the other by John Andretti and Davy Jones. Should be a video of a spectacular crash by Jones on the kink/Kettle Bottoms area of Road America on one of the opening laps of a race. Rahals book mentions he was set for a drive in one for a race but it fell through, or maybe the car had an issue... IIRC, David Cowart (who raced the Red Lobster BMW M1 and March GTP and later vintage racer) owned one of them for years. I think it had a version of the successful F1 turbo 4.
