Daniel Oliveira correrá en Montecarlo en la IRC

El brasilero Daniel Oliveira confirmó su participación en el Rally de Montecarlo, fecha inaugural de la Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC), que se disputará la semana que viene.
Oliveira competirá con un Peugeot 207 que será alistado por el Stohl Racing, equipo que regentea el austríaco Manfred Stohl, el mismo que asistió a Juan Marchetto en su incursión europea en el Pirelli Star Driver.
El bahiano tendrá como navegante a Carlos del Barrio, copiloto español que supo navegar a importantes nombre de la península ibérica como Jesús Puras, Xavi Pons y Dani Sordo.
La mítica prueba, que este año estará celebrando su 78° edición, la segunda en forma consecutiva abriendo la IRC, luego de bajarse de la WRC tras la decisión de rotar las pruebas mundialistas, comenzará el próximo miércoles.
La intensión de Oliveira es arrancar la temporada, aprovechando que la segunda y tercera fecha se disputarán en Sudamérica en el mes de marzo, primero en Brasil y luego en la Argentina, y después de ahí analizar su continuidad.
El año pasado Oliveira debutó en el Rally Argentino compitiendo en la N4 Light para luego pasarse a un Subaru N4 siempre junto con los Baratteros. Respecto a su futuro en nuestro país, “belleza” tiene la intención de seguir ligado al certamen nacional.

I didn't follow the IRC last year much (except Monte) but this year I look forward to following Mikkelsen's plight. Supporting a driver always makes a rally more exciting for me!

As for Monte, I literally cannot wait either. I have exams the week after Monte, but revision may be postponed throughout the rally I have always loved MC, right from Gatsonides winning in '53, with Nicolas in '78, Darniche in '79, Rohrl's dominance, right up to Bernardini in '96 and Loeb's dominance recently.
