The old City of York (pre almagamtion) still has private contactors. Apparently 96% of Ontario Municipalities use private contractors. We do up here. All of the GTA use private contracors and their costs are lower than Toronto's. Apparently the strikers want a 3% raise every year for the next 3 and to keep their 18 sick days a year which they can bank.
I do understand, as you say several business areas have hired their own waste disposal companies and most large companies and many restuarants already had private disposal firms. The hotels have private contractors.
Besides if the wind is off Lake Ontario which it usually is there will be no smell. Ontario Place is a Provincial facility and has it's own waste disposal contract.
I would imagine AGR will have private contractors to clean up each day, although the strikers might try to interfere.

Sounds like if the Toronto government (or any government really) would grow a backbone and tell the garbage workers to go away, it would save them loads of money. Seeing as how there are a bunch of private firms that do it for less, and possibly better too.

Sorry there I go on my anti-government rant again.

She'll qualify mid-pack, as usual, and finish slightly lower, as usual.

You must have a lot of money to burn betting on the princess to win week in and week out ...

I was in Toronto in 2003 (PT's last victory there( and took this shot of princess on her way to the F-Atlantic race...

Next is a shot of the pouting unhappy princess retruning from the race after finishing at rear of field. She couldn't drive Toronto then and I don't think she can drive Toronto now, save your money, bet Penske/Target to win with a dark horse of maybe Wilson...

    Nice pics SoCal.

I do like Paul Tracy's car.

She will do just fine in Toronto. I have no worries. Look for her in the front row after qualifying.

neither did I, I am simply amazed

I'd like to see Power get the win this weekend, but I'll take Briscoe, Dixon, or Wilson on the win.

SoCal, great pics, loved the old Players Livery
