    T'was ever thus. Broadcasters find a presenter they're happy with who then becomes the default choice for everything. On the BBC it's May, Hammond, Adrian Chiles and Graham Norton; on the other side it's Ant and/or Dec, Fearne Cotton, Holly Willoughby and Piers Morgan.

    Fresh talent rarely gets a look in.

    There's a good article in today's Sunday Times by producer Andy Wilman. He blows his own trumpet a tad, but I guess his trumpet is better than most.
