CMR Help
I digged out my old CMR 1 CD so of course I tried to play it but after the intro movie the game crashes.
Why? I am running on XP if it means anything...
I remeber playing it when I was a kid and I would really play it again so if you can help I would be very happy

Maybe CD isn't in a good condition and your pc can't recognise it completly!!
Did you check it ?
If that's not works you can try install the game again.
And in your new installation chech the graphics!!!
That's all I knew,I hope to help you..speed with no limits..

It sounds to me like a graphics related problem. I reckon your PC might have graphics settings too advanced for the old CMR game. Try lowering your screen resolution from the control panel. What are your graphics card and operating system specs?

Firstly, set all graphics settings low!
Secondly, right click cmr Icon on desktop, go to 3rd tab (compability)
and choose operating system windows 2000 or windows NT!
Have you installed the cmr xp patch? Seems that helps such problems.
I can send you mine, If you can't find It somewhere...

You could try pressing the return key to skip the video and enter the game immediately.
On my WinME HP Pavilion pc:
the max game screen resolution is 640x480
the chipset is selected as Default
if I drive the Lancia Integrale HF it crashes the game going over the stage finish, unless I set GFX chipset to 'Riva 128'
(all the above are in the CMR1 game options).
All details are full / high.
I just wish I could make new cars for this game, it's such a pleasure to drive. A fun mix of realistic sliding yet with a 'point and shoot' stability.
I'd like to replace all the cars with those from the 1991 World Championship........ Galant VR-4's, Celica GT4-ST165, Sierra Sapphire Cossie, Mazda 323 GT-X, Delta Integrale 16v, Nissan Sunny GTI-R, Subaru Legacy.....
Goodness knows WHY Codemasters DIDN'T do Colin's classic cars for the CMR series - why not a Legacy????
Why not the 1995 Impreza 555???"I rolled......................I retired"

ProductionCup, I did the exact same thing so I can also say that the game works with detail levels at full and the compatibility checkbox marked at Windows 98/ME. This is such a nice game. There is a lot more attack in it, in comparison to CMR2. Why is there not so many skins available for it though? Are they difficult/impossible to create or are people just not bothered because its an old game?
If enough people had the game, this would make a nice forum championship.Tír gan teanga, tír gan anam
