Guessing the roads are smoother around Cesky Krumlov and better for the Porsche?

Actually they are not. Barum is rougher but today's stages of Krumlov are ones of the very hardest in Czech championship, also the conditions with several storms were very difficult. The only thing I can say is hats off to Pech. Incredible driving and incredible times. Waiting for onboards!

Also watch times of Ján Kundlák, this young guy with R2 is faster than JWRC driver Koči in R3. Many years a go when I used to be car admin for Richard Burns Rally Czech I used to meet a kid called Ján Kundlák on those virtual stages and yes, it's him now...

Superb driving today also by Kopáček.

And by the way Lappi was faster than Kopecký in his first and only start in Krumlov before an engine problems stopped him. Krumlov hasn't been the strongest event for Kopecký at all. Quite interesting how easily he kept Tidemand way behind.

I already feared something like this when looking on the weather radar (but looking for storms in Austria, then saw these two storms around Cesky Krumlov).

I have the impression maybe turbo cars suit Kopecky more than NA S2000. He has been much quicker on gravel with R5 than I expected, even though Portugal turned out to be a disaster.

Bad news from the morning

Pech didn't start into the second day. Yesterday he had some issues with the gearbox. It might be that. Afaik gearbox is generally the most problematic component of rally Porsches.

Also first pass through Malonty stage had to be canceled as the road after the yesterday's storms is in bad condition. Hopefully they'll do the second loop...

Ron, all drivers say that R5 cars are easier to drive than S2000.

Černý lost 3 minutes in a ditch. Not a good rally for him after a bad tyre choice for first loop yesterday.


Still not clear if the second run of Malonty will be held or not. There is a lot of damage from yesterday's storm.
