Why have you dragged up a 5-year old thread?

If you lose income or have to pay for medical care due to the negligence or incompetence of another I see no reason what so ever why one should request compensation.
Isn't it what you pay insurance for in the first place?

I'd be interested to know whether the OP did put in a personal injury claim and to find out for how long after after the accident he was plagued by phone calls from compensation claims agents. I would like to know whether the act of putting in a claim is an effective deterrent against these parasites. If it is I might just change my position of "minor bump - nothing to claim for" to "claim for all you can get". In my experience not claiming seems to result in unsolicited calls and texts for years after the original incident. The calls are annoying enough but getting texts while roaming and having to pay for the privilege of being touted really rubs salt in.

Sorry, I didn't realise it was five years old. A spammer responded to it. The deleted spammer's post is visible to moderators and I simply didn't notice the date.

Is it just me, or would anybody else feel fairly embarrassed to put an injury claim in for a bit of a sore neck? It was a simple accident, and the guy who drove into me seemed a nice bloke, so I just want his insurance company to pay for the damage to my car and nothing else. If someone is genuinely injured in an accident, or if they’re hit by somebody who’s drunk or driving dangerously, then I guess it’s fair enough to claim, but it’s no wonder premiums are so high when people are looking to claim everytime they have a little knock. I’m aware that I might sound like a martyr here, but my integrity is worth more than a few grand.

Yes, after all, buzzards got to eat, too.....

BTW- it has been five years. Did you score any loot on your sore neck?

Just as I was about to make a reply, I noticed that!

Have we heard from Beans lately? Hopefully he's not rolling around in a wheelchair, wearing a neck brace now.
