102nd Indy 500
It's Memorial Day week-end
Quite surprised to see Hinch (the 2016 pole-sitter) sidelined for this race.
Chevy seems to have an advantage on the Brickyard.Oct. 31, 1999 - one of the blackest days in motorsports.

I was pulling for Rossi with those great passes on restarts. Nice win by Power though, he deserved to finally get one.

What a story it would have been if Stefan Wilson had won in honor of his brother.
But Power is a very worthy champion after all these years of trying.
I was quite surprised to see so many drivers, including Danica, Castroneves and Kanaan, lose the rear end of the car.Oct. 31, 1999 - one of the blackest days in motorsports.

Will Power finally wins an Indy 500 after 10 years of trying. I want to congratulate him, but at the same time, this makes him a quintessential journeyman racer. I don't mean it in a derogatory way. He raced in IndyCar for a long time, but, earlier in his career, the ovals were considered to be his Achilles Heel. He also was a crash-happy man, almost like an IndyCar version of a Pastor Maldonado. I think the final race of the 2015 season in Sonoma was probably the lowest point in his career because he run off the track JPM who was his teammate and the leader in championship title points (behind Dixon). As result of that incident, JPM lost the title fight to Dixon by a razor thin margin. As I recall, Will Power, never apologized for what he did to his teammate. However, I want to believe Will Power is not an ass and prick anymore, but has evolved by now into a more well-rounded racer, fast, but cautious, wise, and relentless.
