He has definitely been talking down his chances. Although he isn't helped by doing it with a new co-driver. Hopefully he isn't Ostberg slow at least. But good to see him doing something about his tarmac experience, and good timing right before Corsica.

On another note, is this the first time we will see 3 Hyundai R5 cars competing in an event?

I know I'm always polemic but I didn't found Facebook page and this thing should be the official website of one of the most historical rally in the world: http://www.rallyesanremo.it/
I think it has always been like that - the Italians have had the best rallies in the world and... the ugliest websites

Good entry list though. It will be interesting to see what Paddon can do against Italian tarmac specialists.

He'll do fine. Tarmac may be his weakest point, but WRC guys pace is on a higher level. Even Ostberg managed to be front of a tarmac rally, last year in Canarias.

Do you count Lukyanuk as a tarmac specialist?
Italian tarmac guys are on bit different level.

Maybe Lukyanuk not specialist, but somehow could match pace of Kopecky in Barum 2016. About Mikkelsen nobody said that he's specialist either, but Monte Carlo showed us that actually he is...
As for Hayden - WRC driver in works car, yeah he'll be fine.

It's tricky to compare Barum and Italian events.. It's both asphalt but hugely different. For being fast on Barum You don't need that much of proper asphalt driving techniques. You mainly need to have very well set up suspension and some balls. On the contrary on Sanremo You need to have very precise pacenotes, to keep perfect tarmac lines and to master brake usage management
