The New Bond Theme (Thoughts)
It's been doing the rounds on a Coke advert I was just wondering what people thought of it. It's called 'Another Way To Die' and was written by Jack White and features him and Alicia Keys on vocals (First duet in Bond history).
If you haven't heard it here's the link:

Personally I think Jack White is awesome but I know plenty of people who can't stand him. I love the instrumental stuff in this song but is it a Bond theme?
I don't even know if there is a blueprint for a Bond theme these days, a lot of recent ones have been poor. For the record I quite like the song but I can see it splitting people right down the middle - hence the reason for the thread.RS Motorsport Media - Follow me on Instagram: rsmotorsportmedia

No, I don't like it at all.
I watched Bond films growing up and this song isn't suave.
Alicia should have been given the keys on this song.
She is the epitome of classy, which conveys a better "Bond" image.
Side note: I did like the latest Bond flick and am going to catch Quantum of Solace.Marco Simoncelli 1987-2011

I dont think the vocals suit the genre. I think it's a decent song in its own right but maybe not for Bond.

I don't think it's a bad song for the modern Bond. Sounds quite good.

without listening to it (the number of scripts that firefox has blocked from that page is remarkable), I would ask Simmi about this quote:

I haven't heard the new Bond theme song, and I hope I don't hear it until it's accompanying the opening credits at the first screening at my local cinema. For some reason I haven't liked the last few Bond themes as songs in their own right, but when they're part of the film they work. Die Another Day springs to mind in particular. When I heard that song on the radio for the first time I didn't like it, and it didn't grow on me the more I heard it, but when it came booming out of the speakers in the cinema with the images of Bond's torture that made up the credit sequence (very clever idea by the way), I thought it was great.
Having enjoyed Casino Royale so much, I'm very much looking forward to Quantum of Solace. Anyone else seen the trailers? Available in full 1080 HD if you know where to look.

Quantum of Solace looks insane! Does this theme go hand in hand with the new 'darker' Bond franchise? No, maybe not, but seen as they are breathing life into what was a tired franchise, I'm not sure Shirley Bassey really suits the new direction either.

Sounds like someone put Alicia Keys, a Xylophone, an electric guitar and a microphone in a sealed box that was tossed down a very large staircase. It doesn't suit Bond movies, or my ears, at all.

"You Know My Name" by Chris Cornell sounds gritty compared to other Bond themes (used to be singer of grunge band Soundgarden) which really suited the new direction Casino Royale movie took. I have no idea what this theme achieves.
