Congratulations to Giorgio Pantano
2008 GP2 Champion
Many congratulations to the "old man" of the series. Great to see him finally take the title. Perserverance has some reward after all, although where his career goes from here I'm not too sure.
ITV4's commentators suggested that he was a good benchmark for the other drivers in the series, both for themselves and for potential F1 employers, which is perhaps a little unfair on Pantano given that he has just beaten them all!Riccardo Patrese - 256GPs 1977-1993

Congrats to Pantano let's see if this title will give him a new F1 chance...Patrese told Ital media he deserves it

Yeah, congratulations. Though I have to say that he's not had a great end to the season, he pretty much tied this up much earlier. Fortunately for him, Senna's been at least as bad at the end, with the exception of that race where he got moved from first to last due to pitstop release, exactly the same thing that Massa did but got off.
Personally I doubt he'll be back in either F1 or GP2. I hope he winds up in a decent series and not just Superleague.

Congratulations to Giorgio Pantano
His in a strange situation right now, did all he can do in GP2 but a move in F1 is unlikely. I hope he can find a seat in a top series somewhere.I got my motorcycle jacket, but I'm walking all the time...

For such a experienced driver to make a silly mistake like crossing the white line after his pit-stop was kind of silly though.
Congrats to him for winning the title!Tito Vilanova = :champion:
