I like what Jeff Gordon said after the race. This was a 600 point gain day or something like that. The Chase sucks.

I think that Jimmie will win again. He is a Chase-expert.

Thanks for posting that... I can see why NASCAR did the Chase (ratings to compete with NFL season?) but I agree - I like the Classic end of season MUCH better. Not that I have any preferences on the drivers that would have changed, just that not ALL change is a good idea and a LOT of die-hard multi-generational fans are losing interest because of the over-commercialization and genearl BS in NASCAR in recent years... wish they'd get a clue.

more proof the Chase sucks ...

    After Chase Race #01 and/or 2008 Nextel Cup Race #27 @ Loudon
--CHASE Points Standings (Adjusted) vs “CLASSIC” Points Standings (Actual)

    01. 5220 points --- Carl Edwards --------- 01. 3944 points --- Kyle Busch (now 8th in the Chase)

    02. 5220 points --- Jimmie Johnson ------ 02. 3841 points --- Carl Edwards (now leads the Chase)

    03. 5190 points --- Greg Biffle ------------ 03. 3756 points --- Jimmie Johnson (now in 2nd with the Chase)

    04. 5170 points --- Dale Earnhardt Jr --- 04. 3648 points --- Dale Earnhardt Jr

    05. 5170 points --- Jeff Burton ------------ 05. 3544 points --- Jeff Burton

    06. 5148 points --- Denny Hamlin -------- 06. 3470 points --- Greg Biffle (win really boosted him in the Chase)(3rd)

    07. 5147 points --- Tony Stewart --------- 07. 3432 points --- Tony Stewart

    08. 5146 points --- Kyle Busch ------------ 08. 3417 points --- Kevin Harvick (now 10th in the Chase)

    09. 5137 points --- Clint Bowyer ---------- 09. 3373 points --- Denny Hamlin (now 6th in the Chase)

    10. 5134 points --- Kevin Harvick -------- 10. 3342 points --- Jeff Gordon (loses 1 spot in the Chase)

    11. 5121 points --- Jeff Gordon ----------- 11. 3243 points --- Clint Bowyer (now 9th in the Chase)

    12. 5043 points --- Matt Kenseth -------- 12. 3177 points --- Kasey Kahne (LOCKED-OUT of the top 12 with the Chase)

    13. 3177 points --- Kasey Kahne --------- 13. 3175 points --- Matt Kenseth (LOCKED-INTO the top 12 with the Chase)

    14. 3118 points --- David Ragan --------- 14. 3118 points --- David Ragan

    15. 2964 points --- Martin Truex Jr ------ 15. 2964 points --- Martin Truex Jr

    16. 2917 points --- Brian Vickers -------- 16. 2917 points --- Brian Vickers

I would imagine Kyle Busch is really frustrated with the Chase about now ...
with Classic Points Kyle Busch would have an 103 point cushion over 2nd in 1st ...
but with the Chase Points Kyle Busch is in 8th, 64 points BEHIND 1st.

It would be pretty hilarious if Kyle Busch or Carl Edwards wouldn't win the title this year.

To me the season ended at richmond and kyle busch is the champion, the re-setting of the points is a joke and cheapens the credability of the whole series.
If anyone other than Kyle,Carl,Jimmie or even Jr ends up as this seasons champion then it would be an even bigger farce.

It already is a farce...that's why I'm hoping the champion comes out of one of the drivers w/o a win, and one that doesn't win a race this season.

With Biffle's win, it's down to four though.
I'm choosing Joey Logano as my avatar. I feel he is a worthy ally.

I'd like to see Jimmie winning it for a third time in a row
